ELRON - Estonia Since January 2014 ELRON (former Elektriraudtee) operates all national passenger services in Estonia. Brand new electric and diesel trainsets were bought from Stadler in Switzerland. Electric 4-car trainset 1406 in Riisipere, now end station coming from Tallinn. The line used to continue to Haapsalu but when Estonia became independent from the USSR the overhead wire ended in Riisipere. Unfortunately it was not decided to electrify the rest of the line to Haapsalu, but to sell and later close it. Riisipere, 25-06-2014 Digital photo by Marco van Uden |
