DR1 type train, some Friday March 2014, enroute from Tallinn (Estonia) to St. Petersburg (Russia) Usually this train consist of 2 motor cars and 1-2 cars (always the blue one here). In weekends they use longer trains. The service is provided by GO (http://www.gorail.ee ), which run the 2-3 departures/day to Russia (1 to Moscow and 1-2 to St Petersburg). They rent the trains from Edelaraudtee, who no longer operate on Estonian tracks, as being forced out and replaced by Elron. Therefore these trains are the last DR1 trains running in Estonia. They still carry passengers on local trips within Estonian borders. They have a train with all the cars in GO's colours (blue with GO written all over them), but these here are other or older. Note the blue car still has the old EVR logo on it, which was last in use on such cars in the 1990'ies. Also the motor car has this logo, even that it is green, the colour used by Edelaraudtee. The Edelaraudtee logo is on the front of the car, the E with lines above and below it. Photo by Sonnich Jensen (sonnich@hot.ee) |
