The type E steam locomotives were the largest in Denmark. Originally built in Sweden from 1917 were later sold to Denmark. After the Second World War new ones were built. E 994 was built in 1950 as one of the last steam locomotives in Denmark.

roskilde.jpg (47572 bytes)

DSB Roskilde. A train is leaving for Korsør behind an E-class locomotive. Even more interresting are the semaphores from left to right: entry from Kalundborg, Korsør and Køge. It is not possible to set an non stop route from Køge to København so the rightmost signal does not have a distant arm (of the exit signal). At the base all tree signals have speed indicaters, wich will illuminate when the signal is pulled off.
