At the 26'th of may 2006, with an Event called "DSB-døgnet", the Danish state Railways offered extremely cheap all-day tickets for all of Denmark for only 50 kroner (Approx. 6,50 Euro!). The ticket was valid for an unlimited use of all DSB-trains for 24 Hours! This offer was used by very many people, with stuffed trains and delays as a natural consequence ;-) I mainly used the day for going to the Danish Railway Museum in Odense.
Here's a small diesel-railcar, built by Triangel for smaller lines in the 20's and 30's.

a Continental petrol engine of 100 hp, length 10.72 m, speed
70 km/h, weight 14.4 t, 33 seats, wood body on steel chassis.
In 1985 a new Scania-Vabis engine was installed, since 1997 it
is part of DSB Museumstog.

Danmarks Jernbanemuseum - Denmark From 1935 49 motor cars type MO were built, with 90 more after WW2. MO 1846 was built in 1954 and used for regional passenger and mail trains. It was withdrawn from active service in 1984 and is now operational at the National Railway Museum in Odense. Odense, 20-08-2022 Photo by Marco van Uden |
DSB MO 1846, built 1954 by Frichs. Class MO (V) was built from
1951 to 1958 in 90 units, based on the earlier series MO I to IV
of 1935 to 1940 (totally 49 units). The engines were sitting on a
three axle bogie, the traction motors were in the other two-axle
bogie. With two 184 kW engines it could reach a speed of 120 km/h,
enough for express trains of the era (even some international
trains, such as the "Nordpilen" Frederikshavn - Hamburg and the
train Esbjerg - Hamburg). The motor car had a capacity of 37
seats and a baggage room. They were also used with push-pull
trains. The last regular use was 1984.

two traction motors on the other end.

Danmarks Jernbanemuseum - Denmark The Røde Lyntog express train with motor cars MS 401 and 402 was built in 1935 when the Little Belt bridge was opened, with much reduced travelling time from Copenhagen to Jylland. Odense, 20-08-2022 Photo by Marco van Uden |
Interior of a first class compartment in DSB AA 431, the middle
car of the MS 401 / 402 trainset built 1935 by Frichs as one of
four units. These units introduced the "Lyntog" category and
significantly shortened travel times between København
and the mainland (Kronjyden to Aalborg, Vestjyden to Esbjerg
and Østjyden to Aarhus), passing a bridge over
Lillebælt and going on a ferry over Storebælt.
The middle car had six first class compartments in the middle
and two second-class compartments on both ends. The last regular
service was in 1973 as "Neptun" from København via the
Gedser - Warnemünde ferry to Berlin.

Interior of a second class compartment in DSB AA 431, the middle
car of the MS 401 / 402 trainset. Most of second class was in the
end cars, plus two 8-seat compartments at both ends of the middle
car, so first class passengers didn't hear the noises from the
wheels. Until 1956 this was "fællesklasse", a class between
the old second and third class, equivalent to the new second
class after the European class reform.

of 184 kW each, four traction motors were in the articulated
middle bogies. One end car had a small restaurant as shown.
