Mb diesel trainset for express trains (lyntog, lightening train). This train was build by Århus factory Frichs for DSB in 1935, same year as the bridge between Fyn and Jutland was build. It was used as "Lyntog" between Copenhagen and provincial cities from 1935 (except for the wartime between 1940 and 1945, where it was not used) till the MA replaced it in the sixties. According this homepage: http://www.sitecenter.dk/erik-vpedersen/lyntogetneptun/ , from 1968 to 1973 it was used for express train "Neptun" between Copenhagen and Berlin.

Mb diesel trainset, "Lyntog". The "Lyntog" of the thirties were build in two version. The first one from 1935 had 3 cars, the two at the end being motorcars. The cars share boogies, so the trainset has 4 boogies all in all. The motorcars were diesel-electric and equipped with two engines of 250HK each, so the train has 1000HK in total. Max speed 120Km/h. Second version had 4 cars but is not preserved till today, and I have no data. Datasource: Altmuligbogen Chr. Erichsens Forlag 1937
