Danish state Railways couchette-car type Bc, near the Copenhagen Central Station in 2000. It soon turned out, that the Bc-cars had been modified to lightly. The interimistic interior, the toilets -the only open ones left on Danish State Railways, and the missing option of using the speakers from every car, forced the DSB into a second round of rebuilds. Those were carried out on another batch of cars, as the Bc's where still required, and as a batch of "speaker-place" equipped cars recently had been withdrawn. Danish state Railways couchette-car type Bc, near the Copenhagen Central Station in 2000. In the early 90's, the DSB decided to rebuild a handful of 2nd class former Intercity-cars (type B/UIC-Y), originally build in the 60's & 70's, into couchettes. They replaced former DB Bcm-type couchettes, dating from the 50's, usually used in Holiday-express trains, but now worn out. The rebuilt cars (type Bc) Were delivered in the classic red livery, mostly dating from the late 70's, but after only one season, they began to appear in the very attractive new blue and red livery, of course with the new DSB-wingwheel...!
