Connecting curve Weißig-Böhla, catenary works Construction site of the new connection curve Weißig-Böhla, final catenary works taking place. The new curve will enable direct runs of high speed trains from Leipzig to Dresden via the Berlin-Dresden Railway which runs parallel to the Leipzig-Dresden Railway. It will allow much more capacity on both lines by diverging cargo and regional traffic and high speed traffic. View towards northwest. Photo taken Monday 3 August 2010. A dual mode truck for catenary works is parked in Horrem (on Cologne-Aachen) on
17 May 2004. It has a skylift at the rear end, and there seems to be room for a
drum with wires behind the cab.

Dual mode vehicle of the Department of Materials-Handling and Rail Vehicles
(Institut für Fördertechnik und Schienenfahrzeuge) of the
Aachen University of Technology (RWTH)
standing in front of the hall on 11 July 2001. Please note the small (also dual
mode) trailer. The hall is located directly next to the station Aachen West,
which can be seen in the background.

Small dual mode trailer of the Department of Materials-Handling and Rail
Vehicles (Institut für Fördertechnik und Schienenfahrzeuge) of the
Aachen University of Technology (RWTH)
seen on 11 July 2001. This one-axled "waggon" must be one of the tiniest rail
vehicles at all.

Dual mode truck for catenary construction parked on a new track in
Königsdorf (on Cologne-Aachen) on 1 February 2002. Unlike other dual mode
vehicles that use the rubber tires also for traction on rails, it runs
completely on the rail wheels. Behind it is a flatcar with another skylift.
