Overhead wire maintenance car DBAG 708 335-5 in Dresden-Neustadt. These
units were built in 37 units from 1987 to 1989 for the DR as modern
successors for the old ORT 708.0 and 708.1. They have a roof platform
and a measurement pantograph. 2001-07-15.

Overhead wire maintenance car DBAG 708 335-5 in Dresden-Neustadt, here
seen from the end with the pantograph (only for measurement, the car
is diesel powered). It appears to be painted in two tones of orange,
but actually the paint has been refreshed only under the windows.

Diese Oberleitungs-Revisions-Triebwagen wurden noch von der DR (Ost) beim Waggonbau Görlitz bestellt. Insgesamt wurden 35 Fahrzeuge zwischen 1989 und 1991 ausgeliefert, die letzten ab 708 331 gleich mit ihrer heutigen Bezeichnung. Zwei haben inzwischen den Sprung über die "Zonengrenze" geschafft. Am 13. Oktober wurde 708 308 in Halle/Saale Hbf erlegt, ursprünglich als 188 308 bezeichnet. Mehr Infos im Eisenbahn Kurier 7/2002 S. 37ff.
This catenary-maintenance-cars was ordered by former Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR East) at Waggonbau Görlitz. Between 1989 and 1991 35 of this vehicles was delivered, up from 708 331 till 708 337 with todays numbers. Nowadays two of them operates in former West-Germany. Measuring pantograph of the ORT 188 202-6. This is a
diesel powered vehicle, but it has a pantograph to measure
whether the overhead wire is in the right location. You can
see the scale - in Germany, the wire should not be more than
40 cm from the center of the track. Dresden-Neustadt,
