As you all know, the Stadtwerke Krefeld (SWK) rides their tramways on narrow gauge tracks (1000mm), whereas the Rheinbahn (of Düsseldorf) uses standard gauge (1435mm). Line U 76 (and its express-variant U 70) leads from Düsseldorf into the centre from Krefeld. So there is a need for multi-rail tracks, in Krefeld is used the four-rail type. Here you see a fiddle-switch of narrow-gauge into the four-rail track. A close look shows that the standard-gauge leads only through a simple curve.Seen in front of Krefeld main-station on 24th of March 2008.
