The ramp of the narrow gauge line running from the freight station Köln
Bonntor through the superstore site into the tunnel of the new underground line,
seen on 22 April 2006. In the dark, the tracks turn to the left, towards the
starting pit (which will become the station Bonner Wall later), while the ramp
towards the station Marktstraße (where the trams will leave the
underground) is on the right. This line, with a gauge of about 900 mm, will be
used to bring the concrete segments for the lining of the tunnel to the
tunneling machines. The excavated ground will be transported through pipes
(mixed with bentonite supension) to the seperation plant at the station Bonntor.
The startup of the new underground line is planned for 2010.
