Hannover: One of the new TW 2000 at Langenhagen terminus.
When this photo was shot (September 21, 1997), these cars
did not yet see service on line 1, but a closed group went
there.

Hannover: TW 2014 is coming. A low-loader is carrying it from
LHB/GEC Alsthom at Salzgitter to the üstra depot at Döhren. With
up to 80 km/h on the highway, it probably was the fastest journey
in its live, as maximum speed on üstra lines is only 70 km/h.
The transport has a lenght of more then 30 meters, the TW 2000
itself a weight of nearly 40 tons. May 18, 1998, late in the
night.

New hannoverian light rail vehicle TW2001 at the Hannover fair, 14. Apr. 1997.

Hannover: The front of the brandnew TW 2000 light rail car.
On April 27, 1997, TW 2001 was presented to the public at
Döhren depot. Note the funny form: up to platform level, it
has a width of 245 cm, then 265 cm. So it use the same
platforms as the TW 6000, but has more room.

Hannover: The coupler of the newes tramcar TW 2001. Someone opened it, but
to prevent electric shock, it was soon closed again.

Hannover: This TW 2000 is bathed in mystic blue light. The
Photo was shot at a emergency exit in the tunnel between
Hauptbahnhof and Werderstraße. These exits habe blue lamps.

Hannover: April 27, 1997: The üstra presents their newest tramcar to the
public, at least to those who had not been to the Hannover fair. Next to
Döhren depot, in the house in the background, is the home of the
community preparing the world EXPO 2000. As the EXPO is (partly)
responsible for the need of more tram cars, this photo has a certain
symbolic character.

Hannover: The last car of the TW 6000 series in Hannover, 6260,
and the first of the TW 2000 series, 2002.
Note that after 6260 a six-axled grinding machine was built for Leipzig and that TW 2002 was delivered earlier than 2001 because that one was shown at Hannover fair. Photo by Sven Herzfeld (s.herzfeld@maschsee.han.de) |
