Stadtwerke Bonn B100S No. 7463, one of 25 completely modernized units
originally built 1974 to 1977. They were intended for a lifetime of
35 years which is now expired but are still built solid enough to be
worth a refurbishment. Refurbishing one unit costs about one third of
buying a new one. New larger front window with LED destination display,
video surveillance of interior, replaced interior panels and floors,
new interior lighting and handrails, improved passenger seats, new
electric doors. The new drive system with regenerative braking will
result in considerable energy savings.
