"LANDWÜHRDEN", the first locomotive built by Krauss & Cie.
München, shown 1867 on the world expo in Paris and delivered
to Großherzoglich Oldenburgische Staatsbahn. A lightweight
locomotive (23.6 t) for secondary railway lines, with a hollow
underframe also serving as a water tank. With a boiler power of
185 kW it could reach 80 km/h. The locomotive was in service until
1900, then bought back by Georg Krauss, restored and donated to the
newly established Deutsches Museum.
