We came upon 055 538 3 at Easter 1972, stabled in the yard at Gremberg shed, Koln. Pictured beside the access road into the depot, the still-warm engine had recently been working, possibly a local freight-train or shunting in the nearby marshalling yards.<P> Information available at the time of the visit suggested that few of the class were still active.<P> 538 was relatively elderly, being one of a class built between 1910 and 1924 by Prussian Railways.<P> Photographed by John A.
