Pfarrweisach railway station Former station and storehouse of Pfarrweisach located on the Breitengüßbach–Maroldsweisach railway (route km 25,1). In 1988 passenger traffic has been suspended between Ebern and Maroldweisach, and freight traffic discontinued in 2001. All tracks north of Ebern have been removed since then. Pöllwitz station building Pöllwitz station building located on the Werdau–Mehltheuer railway (route km 53.79). The facilities of the station Pöllwitz consisted of three running lines, which had a working length of 643 m. In 1987, it got light signals and a signal box in Soviet EZMG technology. 1994 carload traffic was stopped. When this photo was taken in April 2003 it was still used by passenger trains from Gera to Mehltheuer. Since the cancellation of the train stops in the year 2011, the operating point is completely closed. My first car on the left showing I wasn't a good example for increaesed rail ridership at the station! But Thuringia does a bit more for secondary lines than the neighboured Saxony so the connection from Gera to Hof will remain despite the state border crossing. Former Pölzig narrow gauge station and historic freight car Former station Pölzig of the Gera-Meuselwitz-Wuitzer Eisenbahn (GMWE), a 31 km long meter gauge railway that existed between 1901 and 1969. At Gera it was connected with the tram network. Pölzig was the only station located on the territory of Saxe-Altenburg; the other ones were located either in the Principality of Reuss-Gera or in Prussia. Today only few marks of this railway can be seen. Used for many years by a construction company, the building now houses a friends' association since 2010. Historic Gw series freight car in the foreground. Photo taken Tuesday 1 July 2014. Photo: Steffen Mokosch (Steffen.Mokosch@web.de) |

The station building of Porz-Heumar on the line
Cologne-Overath-Gummersbach-Marienheide seen on 13 April 2003. There are no
trains stopping here normally, but on this day the trains from Overath and
Gummersbach ended here because of construction works at the junction of the new
line to the airport. Passengers were transfered to Porz-Gremberghoven (on the
line to Siegburg) by bus and had to continue with the S 12 from there. The
small part of the building on the left next to the high mast (obviously for
train radio) is the mechanical signalbox. It is operated by one person
everytimes, even when the trains just run through. At the left edge is a train
waiting for departure towards Overath.
