16 February 1997, station: Lauenförde-Beverungen, Germany
An obviously restored historical inscription `Differenz der Ortszeit gegen Berlinerzeit ,,30 Minuten'' ' (difference of local time vs. Berlin time: 30 minutes). Such inscriptions at railway stations were common before the introduction of the Central European Time as common legal time in Germany in 1893. The Prussian railways operated uniformly with Berlin time (other German state railways used the local time of their respective capitals), and the timetables were also published on this basis, while the locally used time everywhere otherwise was the local mean solar time.

DBAG - Germany The station of Langmeil only exists because two railway lines meet at this point. The person operating the switches and signals also sells tickets, but only when he doesn't have to perform other duties! Langmeil, 01/07/2001
