Former Hischberg (Saale) station tracks Hischberg (Saale) station tracks of the abandoned railway line Schönberg–Hirschberg. It is located near the bavarian border. Passenger traffic discontinued on 29 May 1994, and this part of the line between a sawmill located three kilometres north and Hirschberg is completely abandoned since 21 August 2000. Meanwhile, the tracks are overgrown more and more. Photo taken Saturday 6 September 2014. Photo: Steffen Mokosch (Steffen.Mokosch@web.de) |
Former Hischberg (Saale) station building Hischberg (Saale) station building with faded station label. Nevertheless the upper windows seem to be inhabited. There was no way to get passenger traffic upright, especially as the railway line crosses the state border between Saxony and Thuringia. Photo taken Saturday 6 September 2014.
