Gräfenroda Ort station building Street side view of Gräfenroda Ort located on the Gotha–Gräfenroda railway (route km 33.90). When this photo was taken on Saturday 24 May 2003 there was still passenger traffic on this line rebuilt by 10–11 Mio € state money in 1998! Twelve years later the Thuringian government decided to close this line though there were possibilities to increase ridership. The last passenger train ran on 10 December 2011. Note the station sign shows Gräfenroda-Ort; my first car on the left showing I wasn't a good example for increaesed rail ridership not excusing politician's tax wasting decisions!
