Sassnitz Hafen railway station Railway station of Sassnitz Hafen, which was the northeastern terminus of the line Stralsund–Sassnitz and starting point of the ferry connection Sassnitz–Trelleborg until 1998. View towards southeast. On the platform are two class 143 locomotives. Right of the freight yard tracks depictured leads a single track through a 180-degree turn up to the city station of Sassnitz, which still exists until today. Photo taken in summer of 1993. Sassnitz Hafen railway station Overlooking the ferry terminal of Sassnitz with the road bridge from 1957 and the Glass Palace at the mooring, which served as a terminal building. Two class 143 locomotives visible at the passenger platform. The road bridge has now been demolished along with the tracks, a footbridge was built instead. Photo taken in summer of 1993.
