Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg station building Station building of Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg, located on the line Hof–Kulmbach–Lichtenfels (km 74.4) and the line from/to Bayreuth. Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg is the origin of the Schiefe Ebene (literally: "inclined plane"), a ramp that climbs 157.7 metres over a distance of 6.8 kilometres and therefore has an average incline of 23‰. In past days this grade was popular to railfans due to the steam traffic. Today Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg is home to the Deutsche Dampflokomotiv-Museum (German Steam Locomotive Museum), which houses a lot of historical rail vehicles. Photo taken in March 2002.
