The station of Königsdorf on the upgraded line Cologne-Düren (ABS 4) seen looking towards west from the pedestrian bridge on 29 December 2001. On the left is the platform between the tracks for the S-Bahn (urban trains). On the right is the area for the highspeed tracks, the southern one is already assembled. As the whole traffic will run on them for some months, temporary platforms are needed for the trains that stop here. The southern platform is partially finished, while only some girders are to be seen in front of the old station building where the northern platform will be built. It seems that the acoustic walls will not be continued in front of the building, so it will be possible to make nice pictures of the new highspeed trains in front of the old building.
