The station of Köln-Deutz seen on 29 June 2002. On the left are the tracks 11 and 12 which pass under the other tracks, allowing trains to stay on the right side of the Rhine. This is not much used by now, but in the future a lot of ICE's coming from Düsseldorf and continuing to Frankfurt on the new highspeed will do this. On the upper level are the tracks 1 to 10 (from left to right). There are four platforms, track 3 and 6 do not pass one. Track 9 and 10 are used by the S-Bahn (urban trains), they are ascending east of the station towards a bridge. Some parts of the Hohenzollern bridge carrying the line to the main station are visible above the trees on the left. On the left in the background is the famous Kölner Dom (gotic cathedral).
