The new station at the Köln Bonn Airport seen from the northern end on 12 October 2003. Although it is located under the ground, the central part of the station will have much daylight through a 156 m long glass roof. The access levels are located at the ends, a bit away from the bright area, but near to the terminals. While the northern one is integrated into the new Terminal 2, the southern one will probably connected to the south-western corner of the Terminal 1, which is some meters away from the station. The diagonal pillars visible behind the station belong to a street leading to the airport. This picture also shows that the inner tracks for the S-Bahn (urban trains) have these "hollow" platform edges (while the outer ones don't).
