The station of Buir on the upgraded line Cologne-Düren
(<a href="http://www-users.rwth-aachen.de/christoph.schmitz2/strecke/strecke.html">ABS 4</a>)
seen looking towards east on 26 July 2002. While the part of the new tunnel
under the highspeed tracks on the left is already finished, work is still going
on at the part under the area for the S-Bahn (urban trains). On the right the
tunnel continues some meters where no tracks will be built, maybe a pedestrain
way will run next to the rails crossing the street. On the left the eastern end
of the northern platform is under construction. The walls for the elevator are
visible, the staircase is not in the picture.
