The station of Buir on the upgraded line Cologne-Düren
(<a href="http://www-users.rwth-aachen.de/christoph.schmitz2/strecke/strecke.html">ABS 4</a>)
seen looking towards east along the south side on 20 April 2002. On the left is
the old platform next to track 1, the last remaining old track. Note that this
side also has a normal platform edge, maybe there was a passenger track at this
side of the platform in the far past. In this case the platform must have been
divided for the exit of this track towards Cologne near the old station
building in the background. On the right the southern platform for the S-Bahn
(urban trains) is built. I think the shape of the platform edge shall keep
people away from crossing the tracks.
