Southern station throat of Alzey station. A Eurotrain Regioshuttle is arriving in the distance. Track layout modernisation and optimisation nowadays only allow one train at a time in the southern approach. That means onwards connections to Mainz do not take place but at least the departing train to Mainz can be seen from the train arriving from Worms. Also the Eurotrain from and to Kirchheimbolanden has to use a somewhat sub-optimal timetable.
