A radar reflector at the Freimersdorfer Weg level crossing in Cologne, located at the northern end of the former station Bocklemünd (on the line to Mönchengladbach), seen on 11 December 2004. These reflectors are placed at three corners of the crossing, while at the fourth is the radar scanner itself, which uses the reflectors for a self test. The reflector consists of a rectangular corner of three panels, which reflects the radar beam right back into the direction where it came from, and a cover. In the background you can see the block signals which covers the crossing from trains coming from Mönchengladbach. The signals can not be set to the proceed aspect until the barriers are down and the radar scanner has reported that the crossing is free.
