trans regio belongs to EuRailCo (= transdev), formerly known as connex/veolia, a conglomerate based in France. Since 2008 they are operating the MittelrheinBahn Köln - Koblenz with 16 Siemens Desiro Mainline units (leased from Alpha Trains). Passengers don't need to worry about all these complicated constructions as the tickets of the integrated fare systems are valid.
