EMU 472 S-Bahn at Hauptbahnhof This is a southbound S21 EMU class 472 train to Aumühle. Class 472 like most other S-Bahn trains, use direct current and third rail, like Berlin's S-Bahn. Hauptbahnhof has two distinct areas for the S-Bahn. The northbound platforms are in a traditional underground station like the U-Bahn, which comes out of tunnel if going by way of Dammtor, and the southbound platforms are on the same level as the national DB / DSB (DMUs to Copenhagen via Lübeck and Oldenburg on Fehmarn) trains.
