Class 478 maintainance car ("Gerätezug") of the Berlin S-Bahn GmbH. The EMU is build from a normal class 477 S-Bahn train, it has a big door at one side and contains a complete workshop. Seen in the S-Bahn service station of Berlin-Wannsee in May 1998.

The DBAG owns very few dual-power locomotives. 478 601 by S-Bahn Berlin is one of them. It was built by Gmeinder and owns a Diesel-moter. Its electric-motors got the power from a power-track beside the rails, like all S-Bahn units. Berlin-Lichtenberg seventh of June 2005.
