Full train class 481 of S-Bahn Berlin GmbH, passing underneath the TV
tower at the Alexanderplatz. Half of the train is in the original cream
livery with red stripes of class 481, the other half in the traditional
cream/red that has been applied to some units.

Reflections of Young British Rail Enthusiasts on Berlin Rail Transport
Alexanderplatz S-bahnhof. A very metallic building, seemed strangely empty, but it was a very cold February day. An S-bahn trains speeds out to the left. Our first thought about these trains was that they were very wide, clearly to a larger loading guage than typical british trains. We were also shocked that the doors open a long while before the train has come to a complete stop.
