The measuring car of the
<a href="http://www.ifs.rwth-aachen.de/index_en.htm">Department of Rail Vehicles
and Materials-Handling Technology</a>
(<a href="http://www.ifs.rwth-aachen.de/">Institut f&uuml;r Schienenfahrzeuge
und F&ouml;rdertechnik</a>) of the <a href="http://www.rwth-aachen.de/">RWTH
Aachen</a> is parked next to the hall of the department, seen from the platform
at Aachen West on 23 March 2005. It was rebuilt from a post car and is approved
for 200 km/h. The air intake at the far end belongs to a diesel generator. As
the RWTH is not approved as a railway operator, the car is registered for the
Rurtalbahn.
