Narrow gauge steam locomotive 99 7234, Brockenbahn
Class 99 #7234 running with train 8941 to the Brocken Mountain. Built by LKM Babelsberg in 1954 and housed at Wernigerode. The engines were converted between 1977 and 1983 to primary oil-firing and are the most powerful German narrow gauge steam locomotives ever to have been built. They are primarily used on the line up to the Brocken from Wernigerode. Photo taken Sunday 23 March 2003. Photo: Steffen Mokosch (Steffen.Mokosch@web.de)
