The two tracks and the station building of the Chiemsee-Bahn at Prien, Bavaria, built in 1909. At right the tunnel to the DB station Prien on the line Rosenheim-Salzburg. The 1000 mm Chiemsee-Bahn was founded in 1887 and connects the railway station to the port of Prien/Stock with a line of about 1900 meters. From Stock, ships depart for the famous castle of Herrenchiemsee and the convent of Frauenchiemsee. It is the only steamtram in the world which sees regular service now, but in summer 1998, rumors spread that due to financial reasons, there would be no service in 1999 any more.
