92 80 1221 145-6 D-PEG. Originally DB V 200 145 built 1965
by Krauss-Maffei and first used on the Schwarzwaldbahn
(Villingen depot). Further home depots: 1976 Oldenburg, 1980
Gelsenkirchen, 1982 Oberhausen, 1983 repainted ivory /
ocean blue, 1988 out of service, 1989 to OSE (Greece), 2002
to Prignitzer Eisenbahn. Remotorized with new mtu engines.
Current paint from 2012. This locomotive will be for sale or
rent.

seat is certainly more comfortable than in the 1960s. Also
(not visible in the photo) an air conditioner has been
installed. The tilted side window (necessary for reasons
of tunnel clearance) lets the rain in when opened - a
complaint from some locomotive crews.

PEG - Germany The Prignitzer Eisenbahn (PEG) operates local passenger trains north of Berlin, but also track maintenance trains throughout the country. PEG "Taigatrommel" diesel locomotive V200.05 is seen here stabled in Stolberg, where it will probably operate maintenance trains for the recently rebuilt line Stolberg Hbf - Stolberg Altstadt.
