New high-powered diesel-hydraulic locomotive Voith Maxima 40 CC. Voith has for a long time been a manufacturer of hydraulic transmissions, cardan shafts and other components (as well as hydro power turbines), this is their first locomotive - and the world's most powerful diesel-hydraulic, with an engine power of 3600 kW. The hydrodynamic split transmission allows separate wheelslip control for both bogies. Innotrans 2006, Berlin. |

Voith bought from RLG (WLE subsidiary) two locomotives of type MaK G 1203 BB. This one with no. 98 80 0273 006-3 D-DWK was parked in Wuppertal-Oberbarmen on 30th of June 2007. I am not sure if it is the former RLG 66 (MaK 1000804/1983) or former RLG 67 (Mak 1000809/1986) but due some hints I would bet on 66. Maybe one of you know it more exactly. Photo ©Arnim v. Herff |
