New high-powered diesel-hydraulic locomotive Voith Maxima 40 CC.
Voith has for a long time been a manufacturer of hydraulic
transmissions, cardan shafts and other components (as well
as hydro power turbines), this is their first locomotive -
and the world's most powerful diesel-hydraulic, with an engine
power of 3600 kW. The hydrodynamic split transmission allows
separate wheelslip control for both bogies.
