This small turntable with a hall for three (originally four?)
locomotives can be found in the industrial area north of Dresden
(near the station Dresden-Industriegelände on the line to
Dresden-Klotzsche). The yellow signs say that it's owned by the
DVB AG (Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe) and that it's absolutely
forbidden to park cars there. 2001-03-30.

A closer view of the same turntable, with the old and abandoned
factory of the "Sachsenwerk" in the background. The turntable
looks as if it could be taken into service easily when needed
(then of course the fences would be removed). 2001-03-30.

Open-air pantograph storage for class 155, 143, 112 and 180 at
Dresden-Friedrichstadt (1998).

Mmmmm, pantographs .... again, in Bw Dresden-Friedrichstadt, still stored
in open air. Five for class 180 (Skoda type) and two for class 143 (LEW
type). If you compare this to the other photo (DreFriPan.jpg), you will
notice that two things have changed: first, class 180 now has ICE-like
double wipers instead of the original quadruple wipers; second, the
standard colour for pantographs is now basalt gray. 2001-03-07.

More pantographs in Dresden-Friedrichstadt. Together with those of Skoda
type for class 180, you see one of a more traditional type for class 155.

Another view from the depot of Dresden-Friedrichstadt. What's this, dumb-bells
for body-builders? No, wheelsets for rolling highway low-floor wagons (type
Saadkms 690). To fit lorries into the loading gauge, the wheels have to be
very small. You can also see the polished sides of the wheels, which are used
for braking. As the writing on the racks says, these come from DB AG Werk
Zwickau. 2001-03-07.

Dampflokfest Dresden, 30 April 2000
The first turntable, seen from the "Nossener Brücke", with various steam locomotives in the roundhouse. In the background you can see the exhibited modern regional trains class 642, 612, 445 and the double-deck steam train used for shuttle services between the festival and the central station.
