The Herrenstraße bridge in Sindorf on the upgraded line Cologne-Düren (ABS 4) seen from the north side on 13 September 2001. In the background is the old part with a middle pillar. A bit of it had to be broken up to build the new bridge, but it was possible to keep both tracks in service during the works. The new part in front will carry the two highspeed tracks, while the remaining part of the old bridge provides enough space for the single track of the S-Bahn (urban trains). Acoustic walls have just been installed on this side.
