Berlin U6 Kochstraße, facing south

This is Kochstraße U6 station in the former "West Berlin" when it was part of the "American" military zone. Kochstraße is also the site of the Checkpoint Charlie border crossing, now just a memorial building sitting in the middle of the road. Haus am Checkpoint Charlie Museum holds many memorabilia of Berlin during the Cold War. This view of Kochstraße is facing southward, because the U6 track to Alt-Tegel is on the left side and U-Bahn traffic travels on the right. Taken 10 July 1998.
