171 001 of DBAG, used on the the line Blankenbug-Königshütte in the Harz. This line is electrified with 25 kV at 50 Hz, so only this type of locomotives can run there (and only there). This special locomotive was seen in Blankenburg station at May 13th, 1999 in a special green livery (Museum?).

171 001 of DBAG in a special green livery, used on the the line Blankenbug-Königshütte in the Harz. The train changes the direction in the station of Michaelstein to manage the steep gradient of the small mountainside. The locomotive was decorated with flowers because of the father's day on May 13th, 1999.

DBAG 25kV 50Hz locomotive 171 012 shunting in the station of Blankenburg,
after it has arrived with the local train (on the left) from
Königshütte on 31/08/96. In the back can be seen steam locomotive 41
1185, waiting for the 171 012 to clear the tracks.

Electric locomotive 171 013 of DBAG in Blankenburg(Harz). These 25kV 50Hz
locomotives operate all trains on the Rübelandbahn between Blankenburg
and Königshütte: Heavy ore freight trains and regional trains like
this one, with only one passenger coach. 31/08/96.

DBAG electric locomotive 171 013-6 runs around the passenger train (consisting
of only one coach!) in the dead-end station of Michaelstein in the Harz. The
line Blankenburg-Königshütte is electrified with 25kV 50Hz overhead
wire, and these locomotives can only be found on this single line. 09/02/97.

The station of Königshütte(Harz) on Sunday, February 9, 1997. It is
the terminus of the only line in Germany electrified with 25 kV. Electric engine
171 013-6 with a modest stopping train to Blankenburg.
