Electric locomotive E16 07 (originally ES 1), built 1926 by
Krauss and BBC. This is the only big locomotive in Germany
with a Buchli drive; the side seen here is the one without
these drives. Buchli drives were widely used in Switzerland
and France, whereas Germany moved to different technologies
later.
