DR electric locomotive class 211 #049, Weimar Historic DR electric locomotive 211 049 exhibited at the 20th festival of the former railway depot Weimar. Built by LEW (serial number 13134) and put into service 10 July 1970. Renumbered to 109 049 in 1992 and put out of service 15 July 1994. The locomotive entered museum service in Altrot livery but has been restored to its original factory settings with green livery. Photo taken Sunday 31 May 2015. From left to right: 211 001, 211 049 and 251 012. 251 012 is one of the 15 locos whith a 25 kV 50 Hz current which were used until December 2004 on the Rübelandbahn in the Harz mountains. DR electric locomotive class 211 #001, interior Interior of the historical electric engine 211 001 during an exhibition in Weimar. Visible through the window 204 011 which was also exhibited on this early summer day of 2003. 211 001 was built and tested together with 211 002 in 1961 by LEW Hennigsdorf. One year later the serial production of 96 engines in total until 1976 was started. They had to pull fast trains with a maximum speed of 120 km/h and were nicknamed "Holzroller". Ein Tag vor Fahrplanwechsel hatten die Berliner und Besucher
die Möglichkeit ihren neuen Bahnhof kennenzulernen. Und
so konnte man an diesem Tag nicht nur die aktuelle Traktion
erleben, sondern auch historische Fahrzeuge von Deutscher
Reichsbahn und Bundesbahn bestaunen.
