103 173-1 at Frankfurt/Main Central Station, in the summer of 1997. Following an accident this locomotive became the longer cabins of the latest series of the type.

High-speed engine 103 183 waits for departure with semi-fast train E3434 to Stuttgart Hbf in Ulm Hbf.
On April 15th, 1995, the whole train is compiled of very new double-deck cars.

103 167-3, built 1971 by Krauss-Maffei and Siemens. Based until 1974 in München, from 1974 to 1988, 1990 to 1999 and 2000 to 2003 Frankfurt (Main) 1, from 1988 to 1990 and 1999 to 2000 Hamburg-Eidelstedt, retired 2003, still carrying its original paint. At some point the cab received new paint (this could be RAL 1014 ivory instead of RAL 1001 beige). 32 years isn't the longest in service but the class 103 was used very heavily with long distances every day, so it was worn out, replaced by ICE and class 101. The only measure taken when putting this locomotive into the museum was cleaning the body, so it appears "right out of service" without any embellishments. Lokwelt Freilassing, 2013-08-11. |
103 167-3 in cream-red colouring arrives at Cologne with IR 2534
(Münster-Saarbrücken) on 1 November 2001. Inside the northern part of
the Hohenzollern bridge, which is used for the S-Bahn (urban trains), a Talent
DMU is visible, this is RB 11832 coming from Gummersbach.

One of the lokomotives of the BR 103, the 103 167-3, with an Interregio train in
Koblenz-Luetzel. In a few minutes the train arrives in the main station of Koblenz.

DB AG 103 167-3 as seen from the first carriage.
Even though it's too dark to see the number, the shape is
quite obvious (and in these days, the dirty and deformed
state of many 103s as well ....)
I think the coach is a modernized Bpmz 291. That was the
first type to get this type of gangway doors.

On 15th of January DBAG took out of service all class 103 officially (except the measurement loco 750 003). Anyway IC 13121 was hauled on 11th of April 2003 again by a class 103: 103 167. Seen in Duisburg main-station.
