Dresden Hbf, 30 April 2000 During the steam festival, a class 415 EMU was presented to the public in the central station and doing short demonstration runs.

DB AG (R&T) class 415 in Dresden Hbf, track 13. This train just came
from Leipzig, where it (hopefully!) connects to the ICE line from
Frankfurt (also operated with class 411 and 415). This line is currently (June 2000) plagued with huge delays, due to a number of reasons related to the trains (hardware and software), the line equipment and the timetable.

ICE Max Beckmann to Frankfurt (Main) slowly rolls across the
Marienbrücke in Dresden. The first part of the train is a 5-car set of class 415, with the "BordBistro" in the second car. 2001-05-13.

EMU class 415 + 411 in Dresden Hbf, track 14. First class passengers
are eager to get into the air-conditioned train on this hot day.
On the left you see the 234 467-9 coupled in front of a DMU class 605.

DBAG class 415 + 411 before departure as ICE 1554 "August Bebel"
to Frankfurt (Main) Hbf in Dresden Hbf, track 19. As the platform is very
low here in the hall, most of the train is standing outside the hall, and
step boxes are used to make the use of the first three doors more
comfortable. 2001-01-26.

DBAG class 415 + 411 before departure as ICE 1554 "August Bebel"
to Frankfurt (Main) Hbf in Dresden Hbf, track 19. Outside the hall, a
high platform provides an easy entrance, but inside the hall it is still
low. You can see the transition and the provisional solution to get into
the train more easily from a low platform. In the next years, this station
will be modernized; tracks 17 to 19 will be used exclusively for local
trains (S-Bahn) then, with 55 cm platforms everywhere. 2001-01-26.

of its trip to Dresden Hbf, 2001-02-24.

of the train. 2001-08-12.

ICE departing from Dresden-Neustadt to Frankfurt (Main) with a class 415 unit at the beginning of the train. Our train gets
Hp1 (proceed at top speed), but has a 30 km/h speed restriction;
the signal on the right shows Hp2 (proceed with 40 km/h) for
a local train departing at the same time. 2001-08-12.

An EMU class 415 + 411, ICE to Frankfurt (Main) Hbf, crosses the
Marienbrücke in Dresden on 2001-10-12, which is just being partly cut up. ICEs to Frankfurt still use this bridge, but ECs to Berlin have been diverted via Friedrichstadt.

Broken window in the 1st class cab car 415 004-1 on 22 July 2000,
provisionally repaired with adhesive film. The train operated like
this (open for passengers!) from Dresden to Leipzig, then was
brought to München for repair.

DB AG class 415 (train 1505) in Dresden Hbf on 26 May 2000, replacing
the locomotive-hauled IC 650 Wartburg. A few days before their official
introduction, these tilting trains were already introduced in the
timetables of conventional trains.

View from the freight station Dresden-Neustadt Gbf onto the
track from the passenger station Dresden-Neustadt south to
the Marienbrücke. An ICE (with a class 415 unit at the end)
is just slowly rolling towards the bridge. The freight station
is at the same location as the old terminal station "Leipziger
Bahnhof" was since 1839. Since the beginning of the 20th
century, trains from Leipzig go via Dresden-Neustadt to Dresden
Hbf instead. The freight station has very little activity
today. 2001-07-29
