IF YOU DON'T ASK - YOU DON'T GET!

This was the ICE 824 service from Frankfurt am Main to Brussels Midi Zuid via Köln and Liege-Guillemins
on a non HS dedicated section of track somewhere near Aachen while travelling at 84mph (135 km/h).
Section speed set at a maximum of 87mph (140km/h).

The ICE 3M (multi system) was developed to operate outside Germany. It is licensed for operation
in Switzerland, the Netherlands and Belgium. In Belgium, the train is limited to 155 mph (250km/h)
instead of 186 mph (300km/h) due to problems with flying gravel and its frictionless electromagnetic brake.
The ICE's braking system was met with considerable scepticism by the French during licensing trials for
operation in France.

Photographed 10th February 2007.
