A single system ICE 3 (class 403) passes the temporary platforms of Sindorf (on
Cologne-Aachen), running westbound on 29 March 2002. There is no regular ICE
service on this line by now, so this must be some kind of a test run or a
driver training. From June 2002 on, multi system ICE 3 trains (class 406) will
run here, replacing the loco hauled trains on Cologne-Oostende. In 2003, when
Sindorf is served by the S-Bahn (urban trains) on seperate tracks and the
temporary platforms are removed, the speed of the ICE and Thalys trains on this
line will be raised to 250 km/h.
