ICE 1. Bordbistro Car. These are easily identified, from the outside by the raised roof of the carriage. This is a redesigned Bordbistro carried out by Kiesel for Deutsche Bahn. After 15 years of permanent use a completely new buffet bar area has replaced the former bistro so well that passengers have the impression of being in a new train. ICE-1 Second class compartment. This is a second-class compartment of the ICE-1 trains. There are five seats for the ICE compartment. The seats recline very comfortably, and there is an audio system (bring your own headset or buy one for about € 5,00) with live radio broadcasts by satellite or pre-recorded programs. The climate controls and light controls are located on top of the inner part of the compartment door. Lights are compact-fluorescent. Taken July 1997.
