145 051, Ludwigshafen Mitte
DB electric locomotive 145 051 passing the passenger station of Ludwigshafen Mitte with tank car train and reduced speed. Old Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke visible in the background. Put into service 2 March 2000. The AdTranz DBAG Class 145 derives from the prototype locomotive 128 001 (also known as 12X) that was built by AEG and Henschel; like competitor Krauss-Maffei’s 127 001, it uses asynchronous electric motors to drive the locomotive: based on experiences gained from DB Class 120.
