111 178-0 in München Hbf 1995. Nachdem die 143'er die S-bahn aufgaben von die orange/graue 111'er übernommen hätte, tauchte diese maschinen auch in München auf.
Später wurde sie verstärkt mit doppelstock-wendezüge anderswo eingesetzt, nicht zumindest weil sie schon der dafür benötigten ZWS eingebaut hatte.
111 178-0 in Munich Central station 1995. After the takeover in S-bahn traffic by type 143, the orange/grey 111's also appeared in Munich.
They were later to operate doubledeck push-pull trains in other parts of Germany. Not least because of their already built-in ZWS push-pull operating system.

One of the fast electric locomotives of the BR 111 from the German Railway, the
111 166-5 in design for the city-trains, with an regional train near the main station
of Cologne. Many of the 111 are also used for the citys trains of Rhein-Ruhr. (21/09/97) Eine Elektrolokomotive der Baureihe 111, die 111 166-5 in S-Bahn-Lackierung (orange/grau), mit einem bunt gemischten RE auf dem Weg von Köln Hbf in Richtung Hansa-Ring. Viele Loks der BR 111 wurden in den 80ern für den S-Bahn-Verkehr im
Ruhrgebiet beschafft, obwohl sie eigentlich vom Ursprung her für Schnellzüge gedacht
